Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was born at Los Angeles, California on the 18th of November, 1985. Paul Felix, the father of Allyson Michelle Felix is a minister ordained at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix works as a elementary school teacher at Balboa Magnet. Felix had an early aptitude for sports when she was attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. She discovered her sprinting potential at the at the time. After just 10 weeks of her first attempt, Felix was second in the 200 meter race of the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix was a senior in high school signing a professional contract with the sports company Adidas before enrolling in the University of Southern California where she was studying elementary education. Felix won her first Olympic Medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics held at Athens Greece. She broke a Junior World Record by running 200 metres in 22.18 second. She became the youngest world champion in the 200 meters at the Helsinki World Championships and defended her title in 2007, beating her long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix always placed in the top third of each event she competed in at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
